St. Carlo Acutis – Rosary & Eucharist
✝️ Make the Sign of the Cross
A relic of St. Carlo Acutis, the 15-year-old Italian teenager whose deep love for the Eucharist inspired the world, will be on display next weekend in our parish churches.
Veneration of a First-Class Relic:
- • Saturday, February 21st – After 7:30pm Mass
St. Mary’s Church, Carnacon - • Sunday, February 22nd – After 10am Mass
St Patricks Church, Killawalla - • Sunday, February 22nd – After 11am Mass
Ballintubber Abbey
There will be an opportunity to be blessed with the relic after each Mass. Everyone is welcome. We especially hope that young people and children will come, as Carlo is a powerful modern role model. He died of leukemia in 2006 at just 15 years of age, yet his faith was strong, joyful, and courageous.
Carlo had a deep devotion to the Eucharist. He rose early to attend daily Mass and spend time in Adoration. He believed Jesus was truly present — not a symbol, but real. He often said:
“Jesus waits for you in the Eucharist, in our tabernacles and on the Altars at every Mass.”
He also loved the Rosary and prayed it every day — for soccer matches, for school friends, for the world. He called it:
“The shortest ladder to heaven.”
“A powerful tool to fight evil, second only to the Eucharist.”
He had a special devotion to Our Lady of Pompei and once said Our Lady was “the only woman in his life, the most romantic date of the whole day.”
St. Carlo Acutis, pray for us.
Pray for our youth.
Teach us to remain close to Jesus and Mary.
Let us return to the Rosary. Pray it daily.
Spend time in Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
Stand in the gap.
These are not small things — they are vital in a world grown cold. 🙏
